Happy 2010 everyone! Thanks to everyone who took part in the Atlantic General Hospital 16th Annual Penguin Swim.
The 2010 Atlantic General Hospital Penguin Swim tipped the $500,000 mark for money raised since the event’s inception 16 years ago. With a record-setting estimate of $92,000 collected, event planners are thrilled with the turnout from Shore residents and visitors.
“I am overwhelmed by the response this year,” said Amy Unger, director of development at Atlantic General Hospital. “Our participants really stepped up and worked hard raising money, and the support from our sponsors was simply amazing. I am so grateful that our community and visitors embrace what this event is all about.”
With the estimated attendance at approximately 600 penguins and a block’s worth of spectators, the Princess Royale’s atrium and beachfront were jam-packed by noon.
